Rouge is rumored to be one of Canada’s best dining experiences, and with good reason. The restaurant features modern, french inspired cuisine, fused with local ingredients and regional flavor and a fantastic wine selection.
Rouge is located in the 1891 historic, former home of A.E. Cross, in the district of Inglewood. The house has several dining areas including a Dining Room, Atrium, and Parlor, as well as a seasonal patio and gardens. They grow much of their own herbs, some of their own vegetables and support numerous other local growers and vendors.
I was able to enjoy an evening meal at Rouge and was blown away by the food and service. They catered perfectly to my dietary requirements (gluten free, dairy free), and I was able to enjoy a wide variety of courses without any issue. In particular, the foie gras was mouth watering and incredible.
The prices aren’t for the everyday diner, and Rouge certainly caters to an upper-class clientele. If you are looking for a special meal out with a romantic ambiance, it would be at the top of my restaurant recommendations list.
